Edalex today announced the launch of Edalex Content Services (ECS), a suite of platform-agnostic, cloud-based extensions delivering "clever content in the cloud".
Developed in close consultation with educational design partners, ECS enables institutions and their users to extend the content capabilities of existing educational platforms. ECS incorporates rapidly evolving technologies such as machine learning from 3rd party providers including Amazon and Google to deliver innovative content-centric services.
The first service to launch is ECS AutoTag, which uses machine learning to analyse images and documents and automatically generates metadata tags, streamlining the contribution process for academics, while also improving categorisation for easy discovery.
ECS AutoTag is available now for the openEQUELLA digital repository and leading LMS platforms. A second service, ECS Video, will be launched in late 2019.
